I just logged into Flickr and saw that I had uploaded but not posted the photos from when a group of us went bowling in November just before I went away.

Having a look through the photos was great – it definitely reminded me miss how much fun it was and that I want Ams to be back sooner rather than later…

Thanks to Dom for the majority of the photos and for making me an incredible dinner while I did this post – lovin’ :)

It seems crazy that I’ve been back a week today.
Life has been basically perfect since I’ve been back; so much time with Dom doing not much but having that much fun, NYE was incredible and so good seeing all the people that make Melbourne home. Heaps of drives, hours at the beach and just living summer.
I think I’m going to start sorting through photos soon so I can get uploading and posting them all with some select stories.
I’m running close to an hour late for work today – not a great start to the New Year – but I’m sure I won’t have anything to do anyway so I’m not really fussed ha.
Hopefully I’ll have all travel posts out of the way before I go to Byron so stay tuned :)

This trip is rapidly coming go an end. As expected I have mixed emotions about coming home; I have someone waiting for me who I’m dying to see and some rad friends that I really miss but there are too many things I didn’t see here that I would have loved to.
Some things feel like I have barely had a break from (like work haha) but it seems like a life time ago that I did the Inca Trail up in Cusco.
I’d definitely like to come back and do the things I missed (Amazon Basin, Patagonia, more of Bolivia) as well as Central America.
There’s some things I can’t wait to get home for and others I wish I didn’t have to return to but I’m also nervous about coming home; it’s just this time there’s real consequences – consequences that scare the shit out of me.
Anyway, time will tell and I’ll spend as little time possible pondering the possibilities and doing what I can to make 2012 even better than 2011.

An Idiot Abroad

The last few days I’ve been pretty sick and not doing much at all.

All my positivity has disappeared; I’m not taking photos, I’m lounging around the hostel, I can’t distract myself because I’m too tired and sick to get stuck into anything of substance.
I’m in desperate need of better health and more adventures – hopefully Lake Titicaca will provide that.

I’ll have to be back in La Paz by Thursday and then I have no plans for Patagonia yet but I want to get that sorted so I have dome certainty to distract me over the next couple of weeks.

I’m sure once I get back and relive the entire experience here through photos and stories and be far more positive and see all of the incredible detail I’m ignorantly over looking at the moment.

Travels

South America has been amazing so far. Today I rode The Death Rode and flew across a few valleys on 500m zip lines. At the same time I never expected it to be this emotionally draining. I can´t stay up passed about 11pm because I´m mentally and often physically drained.

Every day I´m stuck between this incredibly enjoyable experience I´m living and longing to be home. Things can never just be simple… never.
